He Who Laughs… Lasts

Laughter is good for you, and that’s no joke. We’ve all heard the adage that laughter is the best medicine. Science and scripture back up the claim that laughing heals the body. Proverbs 17:22 says, “A merry heart doeth good like a medicine.” As we enter the holiday season, many times you will probably hear (and maybe even say) the phrase, “Merry Christmas!” But for many people the holidays aren’t merry, and they may even add stress and sometimes depression. What happened to our merry hearts? Sometimes the laughter and merriment doesn’t come naturally. That’s why it’s important to set our intentions on finding the laughter in life.

You can research all the studies on laughter and how it can reduce stress and anxiety, relieve tension, increase oxygen levels in the body, lower your risk of heart attack, increase pain tolerance, lower levels of cortisol, decrease inflammation, boost the immune system, and on and on. Sufficed to say that having a good sense of humor improves your quality and quantity of life. He who laughs… lasts!

Now that we understand some of the many benefits to laughing, maybe it will help us remember to make laughter a daily habit. If you’re not one of those who is blessed with a naturally jolly disposition, you may wonder if more laughter is possible for you on a genuine level. The good news is that a sense of humor can be developed!

There was a doctor treating a young boy who had swallowed a quarter. When the boy’s mother asked the doctor how her son was doing, the doctor replied, “No change yet.” (Laughter please.) But unlike the boy in the story, we can change. We can change our circumstances. And, more importantly, we can change how we look at and feel about those circumstances. How can we learn to laugh more? How can we learn to find the joy in life each day? To put it simply, it mostly requires making an intentional effort to notice how funny life can be and deciding to laugh rather than stress. Add a little comic relief to your life regularly. A sense of humor is similar to your body’s muscles, and it needs a reasonable amount of exercise.

Most of you reading this are probably avid “oilers” and may be thinking, “There’s an oil for that!” And there is! Decades ago, Gary Young developed an essential oil blend called Joy™. It’s a beautiful blend of bergamot, ylang ylang, geranium, lemon, coriander, tangerine, jasmine, roman chamomile, palmarosa, and rose. When you inhale this blend, it goes directly to the limbic system in the brain and stimulates positive emotions. It’s a great oil to rub over the heart area so that you carry that joy around all day.

Joy™ can give you that extra boost you may need to learn to laugh through your day. It not only has positive effects on the limbic system, but it can also raise your body’s electromagnetic frequency, which creates an unfriendly environment for disease. Joy™ contains rose oil, which has one of the highest (if not the highest) frequencies of any known substance in the world at 320 MHz.

Remember that a sense of humor is healing and can be learned. Learn to laugh at your circumstances. Learn to laugh at yourself. Laugh with people rather than at them. Breathe in joy and breathe out joy this holiday season. Make a mental decision when you wake up to laugh about something today. Let’s improve our health this year by learning to live a joyous life. Because he who laughs lasts!

Just in time for Christmas!

Health Tip:

from Lora Lee Stewart, FCCI

Christmas is almost here! It is a time to celebrate the birth of Christ Jesus! The biblical story tells us:  “The Magi saw the star from afar and traveled to worship the Christ Child. They brought him gifts of gold, frankincense, and myrrh.”  What a glorious gift to give to our King! Why was Jesus given such valuable gifts? Let’s take a look at two of those gifts: Frankincense and Myrrh! Both have many wonderful benefits! Let’s first dive deep into Frankincense Essential Oil.

Frankincense Essential Oil is often referred to as the King of Essential Oils because of its powerful health benefits. (That is why it was such a special gift to give to our Christ Child!)

Frankincense

Frankincense Essential Oil supports healthy cellular regeneration and can reprogram cellular memory thus promoting permanent healing. (This property of Frankincense is primarily due to the presence of Monoterpenes as the primary constituents.) Frankincense EO promotes relaxation and balanced moods, induces feelings of peace, satisfaction, and overall wellness. It boosts the immune and respiratory systems, and supports smooth, healthy skin. It has been used for its anti-aging benefits since antiquity, it reduces the appearance of blemishes, and rejuvenates skin.

Frankincense is rich in Alpha-pinene which gives it the ability to act as an anti-inflammatory and is emotionally calming and stabilizing. It is used in homeopathic medicines today and has been and continues to be used as a Holy Anointing Oil by many churches. In Ancient times, it was known as a “cure-all.” It was used to enhance meditation and elevate spiritual consciousness. It is thought to assist one in the transition of death and has been used for embalming, as well as in perfumes.

Many have found that taking Frankincense Essential Oil inside a gel capsule every day helps them maintain overall wellness. Frankincense Essential Oil can be diffused and applied topically as well. It has been known to help one to overcome numerous illnesses such as cancer, depression, allergies, headaches, bronchitis, herpes, tonsillitis, brain damage, and massive head injuries. Frankincense can stimulate the body’s production of white corpuscles, therefore boosting and enhancing the immune system. It can also act as an expectorant.

Frankincense is a tree from the Burseraceae family. It is the primary tree in the genus Boswellia from which frankincense, a resinous dried sap, is harvested. This tree grows wild in Southeast Arabia, the African Horn and India. Indian Frankincense (Boswellia Serrata) is plentiful and the most researched and known frankincense. Somali Frankincense (Boswellia Carteri) is also very plentiful. There are also species found in Ethiopia, Kenya, Yemen. But the most refined, the most beautiful and some would say the holiest frankincense is from Dhofar, Oman’s southernmost region. Boswellia sacra is delicious, delightful, and sublime in the extreme. Since ancient times, Frankincense resin has been a highly valued trade commodity by many civilizations, and a most precious commodity of ancient Arabia which dates back to nearly 6,000 years.

Dr. Gary Young of Young Living Essential Oils went on a pilgrimage to Oman and spoke with the leader about preserving the Frankincense trees. He was able to show Oman’s leader that Young Living would be able to harvest the trees in a manner that would sustain them for many years to come. Young Living NOW has a farm in Oman and harvests and distills Sacred Frankincense, the most valuable of them all.

Myrrh Essential Oil is an interesting oil. One of the main benefits found with Myrrh is that it enhances and amplifies the benefits of all other oils that it is mixed with! Perfume companies use Myrrh to make the fragrance of the perfume last longer on your body. Myrrh is also part of the Burseraceae family.

In Ancient times, pregnant mothers anointed themselves for protection against infectious diseases and to elevate feelings of well-being. They also believed it would protect their unborn children from generational curses. It was diffused and inhaled during labor to reduce anxiety and facilitate calmness.

It would also be massaged on the perineum to facilitate stretching. Myrrh was used after childbirth to prevent or remove abdominal stretch marks. It was customarily used on umbilical cords of a newborn to protect the navel from infection, which symbolically is meant to cut off generational curses inherited from ancestors. It may have been for all of these uses that Myrrh was brought to Mary and baby Jesus.

Myrrh

Egyptians used it as an insect repellent as well as a sunscreen. They would place cones of fat on their heads which would be immersed with Myrrh Essential Oil. Throughout the day, this would drip down their body, thus protecting their skin from insects and the sun! Modern day uses include antiseptic properties, balancing properties to the thyroid and endocrine system, and support to the immune system. Myrrh has also been known to help the body overcome bronchitis, diarrhea, thrush in babies, vaginal thrush, athlete’s foot, ring worm, viral hepatitis, chapped skin, and wrinkles. Myrrh is emotionally releasing. Myrrh’s primary constituents are Sesquiterpenes which are known to deprogram miswritten information on the DNA at a cellular level, thus promoting permanent healing.

Our big CARE adventure started when my husband Shawn was diagnosed with a “pre-cancerous” challenge in November 2010. Receiving a Raindrop as a holiday gift provided instant relief for his issue. Due to our limited finances as full-time university students at that time, I asked to learn the technique so he could receive it more often, unaware of the PMS effect at the time: Little did we know his issue was gone for good!

Nonetheless, after being directed to RaindropTraining.com and discovering CARE is God-centered, I felt compelled to join the CARE Mission and teach these healing tenets. Despite being enrolled in a Ph.D. program then, while simultaneously finishing final courses for our MBAs, I followed the calling. When the exact registration amount miraculously appeared as an overpayment for a car I had sold years before, I became a firm believer of my destiny in the CARE Mission.

My Christmas wish list that year was fulfilled with a CARE Handbook, a used EODR, the required books and DVDs to teach, and a Raindrop Technique Oils Kit from friends and family. Next I prepared for Nancy Gouch’s CARE Intensive by downloading the Final Exam from the CARE Home Page and studying all the required publications. After completing our MBA theses and final course ahead of schedule that spring so we could focus on the training, Shawn and I attended her CARE Intensive in Detroit, Michigan. There, I finished finding most of the answers on the Final Exam and then completed all my practicums within three days at home. We then traveled to Nashville to complete my certification exam with Gaia Tossing, moving successfully to the next segment.

As a QCCA, while waiting for Dr. Stewart’s response to my emails regarding the exam, I learned that he had experienced a stroke right after grading my exam. This coincidence later became an ongoing humorous anecdote between us. He and I collaborated on a version of Raindrop we named ‘Color Enhanced Raindrop Technique’ in the meantime and then, with my completed CARE Internship with Nancy, I became a Certified CARE Instructor. Over the ensuing 12 years, I have shared the CARE teachings, mentored and examined many CARE Instructors, and witnessed numerous healing miracles with students, colleagues, and private clients. Shawn and I also co-founded the Natural Origins Training and Education (NOTE) Research Group in 2016, which supports and strengthens the CARE organization’s Mission.

As such, NOTE offers several certifications that extend beyond those offered by CARE, but which originate from CARE publications, including Ancient Essential Oil Research, Neuroauricular Technique, Advanced VitaFlex, Advanced Raindrop, Sacred Science (Quantum Physics) of Essential Oils, and Emotional-Spiritual Peace with Essential Oils. We also offer multiple scholarships to CARE classes taught by any CARE Instructor who is a NOTE member, each in memory of former CARE Instructors who are now with the Lord. These include the Lee Stewart scholarship for midwives and doulas, the Irene Buckley Scholarship for massage therapists, the Jacqui Close Scholarship for nurses, the Tamaine Geldenhuys Scholarship for energy workers, the Dr. David Stewart Scholarship for naturopaths, and most recently, the Carol Bechtel Scholarship for teachers.

Additionally, we organize clinical practicum support through our 2015 creation ‘Raindrop Roundups’ as well as through one of the only USA-based, French-modeled Certified Clinical Aromatherapist programs, which is offered by the Natural Therapies Certification Board. All CARE Instructors are well on their ways to satisfying all 1,000 hours of that course and can complete its required clinicals by partnering with doctors in the NOTE organization using oils in their practices. Anyone who has come through the CARE program can benefit and receive support from NOTE to expand on their CARE training skills.

Come meet our intrepid mascot, Dr. Stewie Feelgood, learn about his global botanical adventures and all our membership levels, certification courses, business support, and fellowship opportunities available to all on the CARE path. Find our website www.NoteResearchGroup.org  and various social media accounts. Plan to join us at an upcoming retreat, symposium, or the 2025 Oil Con event and purchase our newest research books on Amazon, in the CARE Bookstore, or at the NOTE Shop, and if I can ever be of help to you in any capacity, just ask!
