Those who learn and do raindrop technique are usually people of heart. They appreciate and express the spiritual aspects of the technique and consider it a gift of healing they can give to others. Some consider doing a raindrop as an offering to to God for the healing of his children and a service to their community. Out of their compassion, some have a hard time charging for a raindrop, desiring to offer it as a free service, and not as a source of income.
As for charging or not charging for a raindrop on an ongoing basis, there are spiritual principles involved. First of all, in Luke 10:7 it says “The laborer is worthy of his hire” (King James). The New Revised Standard Version puts it this way: “The laborer deserves to be paid.” These are the words of Jesus advising the seventy disciples he sent out to spread his ministry. Their room, board, travel, and other expenses were to be provided by those whom they served. Jesus recognized and accepted the reality that work in the material world, however spiritual, charitable, or divinely ordained, still requires material support and that his mission, even though commissioned by God, could not be accomplished without material resources being provided for him and his messengers.
In giving a raindrop, you will spend $25-30 per session just on the oils. You will also be giving up an hour or so of your time. You may also have sheets and towels to launder as well as other overhead expenses. According to Jesus instructions, you should be compensated for your time, your oils, and your overhead. This is necessary so you can afford to continue to offer your valuable services.
This does not preclude your offering a free raindrop, or one at reduced rates, for family or friends. But it does mean that you have to receive remuneration in some form in order to continue. But there is another more fundamental reason for charging to give a raindrop.
People need to invest in what they receive in some way (such as monetary payment) in order to gain maximum benefit. This is a spiritual principle. When people pay for a raindrop, most of the time they will receive a greater blessing than if they don’t. Everyone has the financial resources, even when they don’t think so. It is a matter of their priorities. If they value a raindrop as they should, they will find the money. If they can’t find the money, then they don’t recognize the value of what they can receive from a raindrop and they will not receive the full benefits if it is given free.
We recently had a sick lady on welfare come to us asking for a raindrop. We said it would cost $75. She said she had government medical insurance, but no money and her insurance would not cover a raindrop. We did not change our offer. The next week she called and had the $75. She received such benefits that she has come back twice now (three times in less than 2 months) and has had the money every time. She plans to receive raindrop regularly from now on. We knew she had the money, but was spending it on other things. She had to give up some of those other things, but now realizes that she had to reset her priorities, which she did and is glad of it. It was not that we needed the money or were unwilling to help her, even at no charge. It was that we knew that she needed to make a financial commitment, regardless of how hard it would be on her resources, in order to receive the blessings she sought. She is now receiving those blessings and considers it well worth the money. Her life and attitude has changed for the brighter side as a result.
Jesus did not charge for his many healings, but he was supported materially by his followers and by those whom he healed. He did not function in a financial or fiscal vacuum devoid of material compensation. Neither did he go out of his way to heal anyone. I think that if you search the New Testament, you will find that in every instance of a healing, there was an investment on the part of the party to be healed. In all cases, they had to take the initiative by coming to Jesus, having friends bring them to Jesus, or sending a messenger to call for his help. This bit of initiative or investment was essential in order for them to be healed. Without some indication of their faith and receptivity, Jesus did not heal anyone because he knew it would not work. When people are willing to pay for a raindrop, perhaps even sacrificing some of their other desires and needs to acquire the resources, they are expressing their faith and receptivity. How many times, after a healing, did Jesus say, “Thy Faith had made thee whole.” He never once is he quoted as having said, “I have healed thee.”
If people can’t find the money for a raindrop, perhaps they lack the faith that would enable the raindrop to work at its best. Our bodies, created after the image of God, are designed to heal themselves. What prevents them from doing that are various interference’s we have created by our thoughts, emotions, habits, and activities. All we can do as a facilitator in raindrop is to cleanse away the interference’s and create an environment whereby the person and their body can heal themselves. That is why we call ourselves “facilitators” and not “healers.” Through raindrop we make healing possible, but it is up to the receiver to complete the healing and to maintain their wellness by changing their eating, thinking, physical, and feeling habits to prevent a relapse or another malady, perhaps even worse.
After healing the lame man by the Pool of Bethesda (John 5:2-14), Jesus admonished him, “You are made whole: sin no more, lest a worse thing come to you.” We don’t know how many of those healed by Jesus backslid and became sick again, but Jesus knew that unless they changed their life styles from the environments, habits, thinking patterns, and circumstances that brought on their problems they would be sick again. That is why repentance, confession, and taking personal responsibility for our sicknesses and conditions is a part of healing, as mentioned in Mark 6:12-13 and James 5:14-16.
So there is my answer when asked about charging for raindrop. Adopting this attitude means that some people you know, who may benefit from a raindrop but who say they can’t afford it, won’t receive it until they come up with the money. When it becomes important to them, they will find the money and will, thereby, have opened themselves to receive more benefit than if it were received free.
Of course, if you are a new raindrop facilitator just learning how, you may want to do them free for a while as practice. The receiver’s investment in this case would be that they are expressing their faith in you, are willing to accept a less-than-perfect rendition of the technique, and want to give you their support in your training. That is their gift to you in return for your gift to them. Even then, it may be appropriate to ask them to help pay for the oils, but that would be up to you.
As for what to charge, my wife Lee and I charge different rates. Normally, we charge $65-$85 for a raindrop here in the Midwest. For close friends we charge $50. For family we do it free. If people provide their own raindrop oils, we deduct whatever our cost would have been from their fee. In California and some other areas, raindrop rates are higher, ranging from $85 to $150 and more. Some spas charge more than $200 for a “raindrop” but I am not sure what kind of raindrop they offer.
As an ongoing practice, I think you should charge for a raindrop, both for your sake and for that of your clients.
2. Tinnitus: Problem, or Non-Problem?
by David Stewart, PhD, DNM
Tinnitus (ringing in the ears) is a phenomenon experienced by many. Some are bothered by it while others find it a peaceful, soothing sound. Some are bothered by it a lot even to the point that it inhibits their ability to hear other sounds, like music and conversations. For some, it can even be associated with psychosis and suicide. “It drives me crazy,” some have been heard to say.
Here are the facts. To hear a constant hum or ringing in the ears is not, in itself, a problem. If it bothers you and interferes with your daily interactions with others, then that is a problem, but is it not the root problem.
When you experience Tinnitus what you are doing is hearing the workings of your electromagnetic body. Everyone has an electromagnetic body. Without it, you would not have a physical body because your physical body is a manifestation and reflection of your energy body. Call it your “human energy field,” your “etheric body,” your “body of light,” or whatever. We all have one. You would not exist on this physical plane without one. It’s the way God created us. People in general don’t see it nor hear it, but many do.
Jesus said, “If your eye be single, your whole body shall be full of light.” (Matthew 6:22) If you can focus your closed eyes to a single point between your eyebrows you may see exactly what Jesus described, that your “body is full of light.” These are not residual stimuli on the retina. It is real light, though subtle and beyond the physically visible spectrum of frequencies. If you can concentrate sufficiently, you will see that this light has shapes and forms. These are the organs of your etheric body. In the case of spiritually advanced personages whose bodies of light are very strong and intense, even worldly people may see clouds of gold, blue, and white light around their bodies. The halos painted by artists about the heads of saints are real, manifestations of their energy fields that can be seen.
Your etheric body is like a magnetic field which is real, but invisible to physical eyes. If you put a magnet underneath a glass plate containing iron filings, the filings will move and take form according to the invisible field generated from below. The visible arrangement and motion of the filings is a visible manifestation and reflection of the invisible magnetic energy field. It is the same relationship as between our human energy field and our human body.
Your physical body makes sounds such as heart beat, breathing, the rumblings of digestion, etc. We hear these with our physical hears. Your energy body also makes sounds, but of a much higher frequency not detectable to physical ears, but detectable to the ears of our etheric bodies. Those who hear and recognize these sounds describe a variety of them including a buzzing like a bee, the humming of a harp string, the tone of a flute, the blare of a trumpet, the ringing of a bell, the rushing of a mountain stream, or the roaring of ocean surf. Just as each sound emanating from our physical bodies corresponds to specific organs and bodily functions, the sounds of your energy body correspond to the subtle organs and energy plexuses of that body in carrying out their functions to maintain our lives.
When you hear these sounds, that only means you are in tune with your energy body and can hear it working. In and of itself, that is a good thing. It means that your consciousness is able to hear through your etheric ears. These are not physical sounds and do not have a physical origin. People who are physically deaf can also hear these sounds.
If such sounds are pleasant to you, then just enjoy them. I personally hear them all the time and have for as long as I can remember. I did not know what they were as a child, but to me they have always been peaceful and calming. My wife and all of my children also hear these sounds all the time. So for us, Tinnitus is not a problem. It is a non-problem. In fact, to be conscious of and in tune with your subtle energies is a blessing.
If hearing such sounds disturbs you, that is like an oil warning light turning on your dash board. The light, itself, may be disturbing, but the light is not the problem. It is only a message that you need to check your oil and do something about it. Likewise, when the tones you hear are upsetting to you, that is a message that there is a problem in your energy field which, if not addressed, will eventually manifest as a physical, emotional, or mental disease. Medical doctors do not understand the nature of Tinnitus by their training because they were not taught about the existence and role the etheric body in medical school. They have been taught that Tinnitus is a physical, chemical, or psychological problem of unknown origin. Doctors will usually prescribe measures to block your hearing of the sounds rather than understanding them, interpreting their coded message, and taking appropriate measures to resolve the root of your auditory disturbance. This would be like seeing the red oil light in your car and, instead of checking the engine and addressing the problem, you just unscrew the bulb or turn off the light. Turning off symptoms is what allopathic physicians are taught to do. They are not taught to find the roots of our illnesses and resolve them.
When Tinnitus is a problem to you, that means things are not right with your energy body. It is a warning. Our sicknesses and conditions all start in our thoughts. “As he thinks in his heart, so is he.” (Proverbs 23:7) If we do not clean up our negative thoughts and feelings, they eventually manifest as disturbances in our electromagnetic body. This is when Tinnitus becomes unpleasant. If we do not clear up these disturbances in our etheric bodies, they will eventually manifest in our physical bodies as disease. Thus, cancers can start with our thought habits and emotions which can imprint into our energy fields years before our physical bodies produce diagnosable symptoms of cancer. If you can recognize a problem in your energy field before it appears as a physical malady, you can prevent the malady from every happening. That would be true preventive medicine.
Two good references I use that connect specific maladies with their emotional and spiritual roots are: “Heal Your Body” by Louise Hay and “Feelings Buried Alive” by Karol Truman. According to them, when Tinnitus is disturbing to you it can be a sign of stubbornness, intolerance, refusal to hear and heed your conscience or inner voice, unwillingness to listen to higher laws, or reluctance to surrender to love. In otherwords, it can be an indication that you are not listening to God’s voice within and going against your higher self. Thus, the roots of Tinnitus are a spiritual problem and need to be dealt with on a spiritual level.
The solution is to start with some intense prayer to God to help you understand what he is trying to communicate to you and to give you the humility and surrender you need to heed and accept his word for you. Oils that may be helpful to you would include Release, Surrender, Acceptance, Chilvary, 3 Wise Men, Humility, and Gratitude. Applying oils such as helichrysm, juniper, geranium, peppermint, lavender, and basil to the temples, forehead, and back of the neck can also help relieve the unpleasantness of Tinnitus, but you will still need to correct the spiritual roots for a permanent resolution. Ask God to suggest if there are other oils or modalities that can help you. Pray until you get your answer. This can be days, weeks, or months depending on the depth of your resistance to hearing the truth, or your answers can come instantly if you are ready.
You would also benefit from the services of a spiritual healer that does energy work. They may be able to find the interference’s in your energy field and remove them. If your quest is successful, at some point you will no longer hear the sounds that disturbed you or you will hear them in a new light as being a part of your own being and person, a beautiful gift from God that continuously reminds you of his nurturing presence within and around you.
